It remains illegal to ride a privately owned electric scooter on the public highway. The only place that these can be used is on private land, with the landowners permission.
As of last Saturday, 4th July it is now legal to ride rental scooters on the public highway provided you have a valid driving licence.
It remains illegal to ride a privately owned electric scooter on the highway. Please don’t get caught out as you will be issued with a fine.
