When a dead or diseased tree has to be removed Bromley Council have a new policy of leaving a 2 foot stump which looks a bit odd. This is due to ‘Health and Safety’ as the theory is that the public will see the stump but a hole left by the complete removal of a tree could cause injury to someone. The stump will remain until a new tree is planted.
If you see a trip hazard such as the raised paving slab in the photo, and there are many such pavements in West Wickham, please report it to Fix my Street via the Council’s website. This really is the best and quickest way to get a problem attended to.
